Coupling tables are used in central material feeding systems (pneumatic vacuum conveying), where different material sources (silo, octabin, big bag emptying unit or bag emptying bins) with different materials are assigned to the plastics processing machines. This is done manually by recoupling hose pipes. The risk of incorrect operation, resulting in the wrong material being fed to the plastics processing machine, is very high.
Most ACHBERG coupling tables are supplied with TWIST couplings, which are hugely convenient during handling and can also be equipped with RFID sensors. Contactless and reliable communication between the RFID sensors (read/write heads) on the fixed couplings and RFID tags (antennas) on the locking caps or hose couplings means that a signal is sent to the higher-level control system when the coupling is changed. This greatly reduces the risk of incorrect operation.
